Phantom in an Indian Bollywood movie!

Being an Indian, I myself never knew of this gem! You HAVE to check this out, especially if you have an Indian connection:

Many Indians would know Rajesh Khanna as a yesteryear superstar of Bollywood movies (even before they were called "Bollywood"). It's pleasantly surprising to see him in such an avatar!

I don't know if I can get my hands on the full movie, but from IMDB it seems it could be just an intro sequence of a "daydream"...

Thanks for sharing that Aman. As little campy as that was, it's still great that they paid homage to the character in such a big way. The costume, skull cave all made with attention to detail including Devil.

I think Rajesh Khanna and many other Indian actors would have loved to play Phantom in a movie during those days, but since an actual screen adaptation may not be possible this is the closest thing to it.

Agreed! The attention to detail was one of the first things I liked about the clip (except for the zipper at the back of the Phantom costume... although it was kinda cute). The effort and end result were definitely much better than "Betaal Pachisi" that came about many years later on Indian TV. (For those who don't know about the TV serial, there is some info at the bottom of this page.)
