The Frew issues I ordered a week or so ago (#457 and #460) arrived for me at work this morning.

I've just ordered three comics from the "Lee Falk Estate". I was a bit skeptical about the authenticity of this statement, though they have been graded by CGC with that marked on the tab - so that's good enough for me!

This quote from a CGC article makes me think these comics are legit - glad that I ordered them now.

We saw an extensive group of Phantoms from the estate of creator and writer, Lee Falk. First appearing in a newspaper strip syndicated by King Features in early 1936, Ghost Who Walks created an archetype for superheroes to follow with his snappy skin-tight leotard costume with underwear trunks on top and a mask with no visible pupils. His patent on this fashion accessory alone could fund his crime-fighting family for generations. And he was one of the very first members of the cape and mask vigilante fraternity to make the jump to Hollywood. While no longer as popular in America as he once was (you perhaps have heard that newspapers are yesterday’s news?), the Phantom still retains a robust international following. He is hot in frosty Scandinavia (I guess the steamy jungle plays well there) and as any fairdinkum Phantom phan could tell you, he is tops down under. Phantom #1091 (9.4) from Australia’s Frew Publications was a treat to see; they come very Frew and far between.

If it's from CGC I think you're pretty safe. Ensuring items are legit is what they do, so you can trust them. Saw a 7.5 CGC graded Strange Tales #110 (first appearance of Doctor Strange) recently. Soooo tempting.

I've a CGC slabbed 1966 French Mandrake comic I won at the last LFMBEC dinner. Pretty damn cool, and my only CGC book.

Daniel, how and from where did you get these items from the "Lee Falk Estate"?

I picked up a few items from Falk's estate at the last LFMBEC. The above Mandrake comic was part of Lee's personal collection!

From eBay ... A store called 'Comic Cave 83' or something of the like. Only paid for them last night though - had planned to buy a heap of Frew issues I was missing, but just haven't had the time to go through them all. From what I can see, he was selling a few of these some time back.

Additionally, the piece of Daily Art I ordered a few weeks back arrived on Monday. Very nice piece.

The 'wood ad mat' also arrived in the past week or so. An interesting item. I'm contemplating molding a printing plate from it, but don't really want to try that if it'll destroy the mat in the process.

Back to work after a couple of weeks off today and a few things had arrived:-

Giant Size Phantom #5
3 x Lee Falk Estate Comics (CGC)
And what I think is the Giordano art I ordered.

It also looks as if the Fantomet issues Ivan sent me arrived (haven't opened the package yet).

I recently moved my Phantom collection gallery (and my other collection galleries as well) to Flickr. Check it out and if you're a member there, send me a message/ contact! Cheers
